Job Summary
A growing fish farming and aquaculture business in Benin City is looking for a dependable and detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to oversee daily financial operations. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records, track expenses and revenue, and support the business with timely financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and up‑to‑date financial records.
- Manage cash flow, petty cash, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Track operational costs such as feed, fingerlings, labor, and utilities.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial statements and performance reports.
- Issue invoices and monitor customer payments.
- Assist with budgeting and basic financial planning.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and organization of financial records.
- Support tax preparation and compliance activities when required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- OND/HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounts officer (experience in agriculture or fish farming is an added advantage).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Good communication and record‑keeping abilities.
